What I offer my students

  • Long-standing private studio: I have maintained a private studio (both in-person and online) for the past 10 years assisting students in vocal technique, musicianship skills, ensemble skills, repertoire coaching, audition prep, and foreign language diction. I teach a range of musical styles from opera and classical concert music, to pop, rock, and musical theater.

  • All skill and experience levels welcome: My private students range in age and experience from the beginning pre-teens, to high school age students working on repertoire for auditions, to conservatory trained adults looking to maintain their edge, to retirees looking to improve vocal technique and musicianship for church/community choir.

  • University-Level teaching experience: I am on the voice faculties of Westmont College in Santa Barbara and California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks where instruct career bound music majors, minors, and beginners in the operatic and classical canon as well as musical theater styles.

  • Tailored instruction: Whether you are just starting vocal instruction or at an advanced stage looking to reach that next level, I tailor instruction specifically to meet your needs and help you reach your goals.

  • Professional membership and special opportunities: My membership in several prominent musical organizations including The National Association of Teachers of Singing, The American Guild of Musical Artists, and Phi Kappa Lambda Society indicates my professional standing as a teacher and performer, one seriously dedicated to the art of vocal instruction and performance. Membership in these organizations also provides special audition, competition, training, and performance opportunities for students.

Testimonials

“Bryan was awesome from the start...the fact that he actually had be singing out loud in front of someone was a major accomplishment in itself! He carefully took me through some warmup exercises, then on to harmonizing with a keys, and then on to lyrics. I'm looking forward to coming back and building my confidence even more!” -Chuck R.

“Bryan is an awesome vocal coach, whose lessons cover everything from classical to contemporary vocal styles. He works really hard to cater the lessons so that they cover material that the students has a natural interest in, while still finding fun approaches to help bring his students up to snuff on the theory side of singing (sight reading sheet music, solfege exercises, etc.). I would strongly recommend him to anyone that wanted to improve their singing, regardless of their current skill level.” -Richard P.

“I am finding new ways to sing opera more easily. He has opened up my voice incredibly and I previously had some of the world's best singing teachers in London! Bravo Bryan - thanks so much” Gray H.

“Bryan has been my voice teacher for three or four years, and I've learned enormously from him. He's patient and supportive. At the same time, he corrects and nudges you into being the best that you can be. He's always on time, and he's just plain great to work with. I love the baroque repertoire that he has introduced me to.” Catherine A.
