Westmont Spring Faculty Recital

Music Faculty to Shine at Spring Recital

Westmont’s talented music faculty will perform the Spring Faculty Recital on Friday, January 24, at 7 p.m. in Deane Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the Westmont Music Department at (805) 565-6040.

The concert will include a performance of Gioachino Rossini’s “Sonata for Wind Quartet No. 5 in D Major, Allegro spiritoso” by the Sonos Winds, a quartet featuring Andrea Di Maggio (flute), Joanne Kim (clarinet), Andy Radford (bassoon) and John Mason (horn).

Andrea Di Maggio will perform “Ballade Op. 288” by Carl Reinecke with her husband, Neil Di Maggio (piano). Neil will also perform Brahms’ “Rhapsody in E-flat Major Op. 119, No. 4.”

Westmont alumnus and adjunct voice professor Bryan Lane ’10 (tenor) will perform Francesco Paolo Tosti’s “Marechiare” and “Ideale” accompanied by Erin Bonski (piano).

The Choral Masterworks Concert, featuring selections by Georg Philipp Telemann, Thomas Linley Jr. and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is Sunday, March 26, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 305 East Anapamu Street. The Mozart vespers features Westmont alumni soloists Emmalee Wetzel ’15 (soprano), Rachel La Commare ’16 (alto), Bryan Lane ’10 (tenor) and Luke Mizuki ’15 (bass) with student conductor Jason Tong ’17. Bryan will also be featured as a soloist in the cantata by Thomas Linley.
